Food for thought

It has been more than 5 years since I’ve posted..

When life gets to you, you pick and choose what you put aside to make time for others, my blog/youtube was not something I’ve intentionally wanted to put aside, I’ve gotten so wrapped up in my work life, my social life and dealing with ups and downs of pent up stress and anxiety.

I just want to take the time to be transparent to the readers (if there are any one reading this) and myself, I am my worst enemy,  I tends to overthink things and make things more difficult on myself. For example; I have many things I want to blog about but I know better to know to only stick to one thing but my aspiration is to reach out to many different types of people.

So don’t be surprised if I blog about something else besides video games, I am just in the process of refocusing myself.

What have I been doing the past 5 years? It is a scary thought isn’t it?

S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl – To Poke or Not To Poke

S.T.A.L.K.E.R_BloodsuckerAfter doing some research and not spoiling the game for myself I’m glad I didn’t poke the bloodsucker with a stick after all.

This is my journey leading up to my first encounter with my first S.T.A.L.K.E.R scare. What did I get myself into? Bumping into bums with guns in the sewers..

You can check out previous S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl here, and get the complete mod I am using to make the game look amazing here.

The Heist

Payday: The Heist

No, I am not talking about the movie Heist, I’m talking about Payday: The Heist, I know the 2nd one came out recently and I’ve been meaning to get it but I haven’t picked it up yet, with Grand Theft Auto V’s recent release I’m sure most people are on that anyways. Payday: The Heist is a FPS game with very similar mechanics as Left 4 Dead, so if you ever played L4D you’ll be sure to pick up this game very quickly.

Going on heists isn’t a easy job with 2 AI and sure would be easier and more fun with a group of 4, certainly need team work to fight off hundreds of SWAT and cops while doing the objectives. For $19.99 I’d say give this game a try, it’s not everyday that you can simply wake up and decide to rob a bank and plant C4 to escape without a hitch!

Here I have 3 heists for you to check out if you haven’t seen it yet on our Active Variety channel

Therapeutic Head Smashing On Saints Row IV

Saints Row Nut Punch

Saints Row IV never fail at making me feel like a super hero with awesome melee combat animations that is why a lot of times I prefer melee over guns. Unless it’s the dubstep gun of course..

I haven’t finish the game yet but so far this game makes my character feel OP with all the over-the-top super powers, but needless to say it is a nice break from a lot of your typical games out there sometimes you just want to punch an alien in the nuts.

I am kind of disappointed to see that they used a modified version of the map from Saints Row: The Third, but I have to say they can pull it off, this game is funny and crazy. As a super hardcore music lover, I also very much appreciate the fact that you can listen to the radio station without being in a car!

Here are a couple things that I like to do in Saints Row IV.

Sometimes smashing heads isn’t therapeutic enough.. I turn to orbiting and lots of wub wub wub to escape the world.

I want to know what do you do to escape the world?

First S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl Scare And Penumbra: Black Plague

StalkerSo on the topic of Outlast and horror games I decided to play Penumbra: Black Plague, I got stuck on some parts but made it through alright. I actually never thought the game would have this many puzzles.

Also I got back into S.T.A.L.K.E.R since I haven’t made a video on that in ages, I encountered my first scare. Hahah I was confused, and was glad that I was recording it.

Outlast: Ready To Pee Your Pants?

Outlast_Underbed

How scary would it be to be in a long-abandoned Asylum you asked? Why not live through this hell-of-an-experience through the eyes of Miles Upshur? As an independent journalist it’s always nice to discover things on your own right? WRONG! Wait till you see what’s hiding deep inside of Mount Massive Asylum.

Outlast‘s story is told through the investigations of Miles, finding clues and paperwork. Think of Fatal Frame for the camera/handheld camcorder you’re having to use or maybe Clock Tower minus the holy water and bow meets Amnesia, the suspense of peeking around corners, sneaking pass enemies and hiding in tight spots not having any form of weapon really hits the spot in my taste of survival horror games.

Outlast ScreenieWould really love to play the Demo of the game but might have to wait for the fast approaching release on September 4th available on Steam. (Sorry console players.. PC only) The game is on Pre-Order for $14.99, after that it’ll be back up to $19.99. Many have asked, and I also wonder will this be the next Amnesia?

I’m curious, will you be getting Outlast? If so, what do you expect from the game? If not, why the hell not?
